A Fitter makes parts to fit into other machines. They also use many types of different engineering hand tools and work with various types of Ferrous and Non-Ferrous metals viz.- Mild Steel, Stainless Steel, Carbon Steel, Brass, Copper, Aluminum etc and also operate welding machines like Lathe, Drilling M/c, Grinding M/c and other CNC machines during course of operation.
After successful completion of course, a trainee initially one can be placed in the Govt, Semi-Govt, Private sector workshop which open the scope of promotion upto higher level, depending upon the experience and degree of skill. This course makes the person capable to run a maintenance and repairing workshop and to become an entrepreneur in the small scale industries sector..
